GoNature

GoNature, a groundbreaking project aimed at promoting sustainable ways of life, is set to revolutionize sustainability education through its low-threshold and family-focused approach. The project aims to provide access to knowledge and support individuals in adopting more sustainable practices in their everyday lives.

Recognizing the family as the smallest unit in European society and the catalyst for social change, GoNature seeks to empower families to make informed choices through inclusive and critical thinking. By reintroducing forgotten knowledge and facilitating intergenerational knowledge transfer, GoNature aims to revive ancient wisdom and embrace digital tools to enhance learning experiences.

At the heart of GoNature is a board game that fosters engagement and learning. The game, which can be downloaded as an Open Educational Resource (OER), combines entertainment and education to impart knowledge on sustainable living. Players move around the game board, answering questions and responding to scenarios related to various categories, such as avoiding overconsumption, water management, recycling, urban gardening, zero waste, green tourism, and more.

Unlike traditional games focused on competition, GoNature prioritizes communication, discussion, and practical application of sustainable living concepts. The game serves as a tool to encourage dialogue, critical thinking, and the integration of theoretical knowledge into real-life scenarios.

Through non-formal education, games, and activities, GoNature promotes mutual understanding and dialogue between generations, enhancing participants' skills in sustainable living. The project targets families, children, youth, and adults, ensuring inclusive access to resources and information regardless of socio-economic conditions or geographical context.

GoNature's outcomes include a comprehensive textbook covering nine categories of sustainability with exercises for basic knowledge acquisition. Additionally, the physical board game, available for download and assembly, offers an interactive and engaging learning experience.

The project also aims to benefit regional stakeholders, such as community centers and NGOs, by providing educational materials and guidance for engaging the target groups. By training adult educators in incorporating sustainability education into their practices, GoNature seeks to motivate and guide individuals towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

The consortium behind GoNature consists of partner organizations committed to addressing the needs of families and society at large. With an emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation, the project fosters the sharing of experiences, knowledge, and best practices.

The project's potential impact is reflected in the interest it has already garnered from parents, specialists, and educational institutions. The game's interactive and accessible nature has proven successful in previous projects, generating ongoing demand throughout Europe.

By offering a solution to the environmental crisis and supporting the target groups, GoNature aims to make a significant contribution to the creation of a sustainable future. The project aligns with the European Green Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the call for inclusive and lifelong learning opportunities.

Together, let's embark on a journey towards a more sustainable future!
